The internet cannot hide!

Friday, October 17th, 2008

I guess I am technology fan. I just could not stop myself from making this post. I am on train from the arctic circle making its way back to civilization in Helsinki, Finland. Right now the train is going through the arctic wilderness and all I can see through the window is birch trees. Lots of them!

But in this ‘middle of nowhere’ there is internet! I am connected to the net through a GPRS card on my laptop and I am ‘connected’ to the world. Chat-ing with my friends across the globe. Of course they are not able to understand why I am so excited!

All this reminds of this famous quote –
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
Arthur C. Clarke, “Profiles of The Future”, 1961 (Clarke’s third law)

I am going to find just that? And not just that – I am also going to find out what it is? How it is? Next post from Helsinki, Finland.

I successfully completed the 2008 Chicago Marathon. The start was fun and the weather was fantastic. But after some 9 miles the sun was up in the sky and the weather became hot and humid. Thing were now going downhill. The last 5 miles was excruciating. I am glad I finished the race.

This is only the beginning!

T-45 minutes and counting!

The excitment is in the air. Question is will it last?

All systems go at T-45 minutes!

T-4 hrs and counting.

The day is finally here. There is excitement and there is anxiety.

All systems go at T-4 hrs.
