There is a big buzz going around the campus community about Web 2.0 and everyone is wanting to jump on to the ‘I have a blog’ band wagon. I was sitting in one of those ‘I need a blog’ meetings and I could stop thinking about my own blog – iamneo@livejournal. It is a blog alright but it is stale – I have not posted a new entry in a long time. Now be it Web 1.0 stuff or Web 2.0 stuff – content rules. If your site has no new content then it will soon become stale.
I wonder if some of the campus folks have thought about this aspect of blogs – once you have it – you have to update it. It is almost like a pet – if you don’t take care of it – it will die! Luckily blogs just become stale!
It will be interesting to see how many blogs get launched across the campus and how many become stale in a year’s time!
True but blogs are very difficult to maintain. An idea could be a team blog. 3-4 contributors start a blog so that whenever whoever gets time, write something.
