Google Search Appliance and a little project.

Friday, August 17th, 2007

Over the last few months, I had been working hard along with bunch of other people to create one of coolest application for the university at least in my opinion ;-) . The application’s goal is to help students and faculty and staff to search for courses – about 5000 of them based on initiutive search criteria. For example give me all evening classes or give me all classes in Stevenson building during Monday etc.

So we collected all the course information from the main frame, cleaned up the data and let loose the Google Search Appliance at the data.
The result – http://www.coursefinder.ilstu.edu/

And of course Google has good things to say about it ;-) -

So go ahead and search for courses at Illinois State University!
